About the Program
The Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Public Health program equips students with the fundamental principles and practices of public health to tackle health-related challenges and disparities in communities across Lebanon, the region and the world. Driven by the interdisciplinary nature of public health, our curriculum combines the theoretical and practical aspects of nutrition, health promotion, and education with communications and project management, laying the foundation for graduate studies or practice in public health or other health-related professions.

Mission
The Public Health Program at Phoenicia University is committed to educating and training the next generation of public health professionals who will promote health equity, improve health outcomes, and address health challenges facing individuals, families, communities, and populations in Lebanon and beyond.
Program Educational Objectives
• PEO1. Providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the social, environmental, and behavioral factors that shape the state of health in Lebanon.
• PEO2. Developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in relation to public health practice, ensuring our graduates are well-equipped to address complex public health issues locally, regionally, and globally.
• PEO3. Building competencies in public health research methods, data analysis, and scientific writing, empowering students to conduct and publish rigorous research that can inform health policy and practice in Lebanon and the region.
• PEO4. Offering opportunities for experiential learning, community engagement, and leadership development through internships and practice-based education embedded in the program curriculum.
Student Learning Outcomes
• SLO1. Describe, analyze, and develop solutions for public health issues using evidence-based approaches that take into account the unique challenges and opportunities in Lebanon and the region.
• SLO2. Communicate effectively about public health issues with diverse populations and stakeholders.
• SLO3. Design and conduct research that aims to address pressing public health issues in Lebanon and beyond.
• SLO4. Collaborate with stakeholders from various health and non-health-related fields to plan, implement, and evaluate public health interventions and policies.
